Safety & Maintenance
At Kelron, we ensure the use of qualified carriers based on our high level of safety and maintenance requirements.
Our carriers are solely responsible for supplying, carrying and maintaining all equipment necessary to carry out loads.
Equipment should be:
- In good, safe and efficient operating condition (which includes providing secure, clean, dry and odor-free trailers that have not previously hauled waste products)
- In compliance with any and all applicable federal, state, provincial and/or local regulations (including those relating to emissions and other environmental issues)
- Suitable and properly configured to safely load, transport, and unload the shipments specified on each load tender sheet
Carriers should also:
- Conduct an inspection of all empty containers/trailers prior to loading
- Document all inspections
- Establish seal control, issuance, affixing, and verification policies with appropriate checks and balances
- Track driver movements throughout transportation
- Establish access controls to all transported cargo
- Implement effective screening processes for all employees who handle cargo
