JOB STATEMENT
Secures and develops new accounts by effectively presenting Kelron Logistics value added services and benefits to potential customers.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Identifies target markets within designated geographical area. Qualifies/ascertains lists of prospects from Company leads and other publications.
- Prospects potential customers via aggressive phone sales. Conducts client visitations when required. Obtains pertinent information concerning prospects. Enters new customer data and other sales data for prospective customers into computer database.
- Qualifies feasibility of potential customers based on our capability to service them effectively. Identifies the needs and wants of each potential customer.
- Develops and maintains positive on-going relationships with all prospective clients.
- Conducts follow-up calls on prospects within a timely manner.
- Provides rates and alternative freight solutions for potential clients.
- Collaborates with operations department to problem-solve and provide optimal transportation service.
- Performs related duties as assigned by the General Manager/Sales Manager.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS
Must have general knowledge of sales techniques, coupled with a strong customer service orientation. Effective communication skills and a tenacious, persistent personality are also required for successful performance in this position. In addition, the ability to operate in a Windows environment, and effectively organize and plan tasks on daily basis is required.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
Must possess the ability to effectively close sales over the phone.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. A post-secondary diploma or degree is preferred. At least one year's experience in a prospecting role is required.
